De’Andre Hunter: Shot Form Assessment
Hunter has fairly good shooting mechanics overall. His base alignment (feet, hips and shoulders) is typically either square or slightly acute, which contributes to his high level side-to-side accuracy. He has no problems with elbow flare, his guide hand or his extension. Two areas that lead to shaky distance control are his slightly acute elbow angle and his inconsistencies with his wrist, areas that impact trajectory and whether a shot lands with a soft touch. His mechanics remain solid off the dribble, perhaps even a touch more fluid in pull-up situations, although the majority of these attempts are a step inside the arc.
